How Whot uses your data
Last updated 15 October 2026. This page explains the information used to run your account, matches and collection.
On this device
Whot uses essential first-party storage, including local storage and cookies, to remember your profile, sign-in, accessibility choices, audio preferences, unfinished setup and cookie choice.
When you use an account
Your account can sync your display name, avatar, coins, cowries, experience, achievements, collection, friends and match progress. If you choose Google sign-in, the account service also receives the identifier and email needed to secure that account.
When you play online
Whot processes room membership, game actions, results, chat and emotes so every player sees the same match. Safety and integrity records may be retained to investigate abuse, cheating or disputed rewards.
Purchases
Payment providers process payment details. Whot receives the purchase result and stores the items or currency added to your account; it does not need to store your full card number.
For Paystack checkout, we share your account email, or the receipt email you provide, with Paystack to process your purchase and send your receipt. You can choose a different receipt address before continuing. We do not use a receipt address to subscribe you to marketing. Providing a receipt address as a guest does not create a signed-in account or save that address to your game profile.
Optional analytics
Where consent is required, optional analytics remain off unless you allow them. If enabled, they may be used to understand crashes, performance and feature usage. They are not required to play and do not change match outcomes.
Cookie choices
Choosing “Essential only” keeps optional analytics off. Choosing “Allow optional” permits those analytics. You can reopen Cookie preferences from Profile → Privacy and storage and change your choice at any time.
Your controls
- Change cookie preferences from Profile → Privacy and storage.
- Play as a guest without showing an email to other players.
- Change your public name and portrait from your profile.
- Sign out to stop using a synced account on this device.
Community safety
Player reports and blocks are handled under the Whot community rules. Reports are reviewed; a single report does not automatically punish a player. Blocking immediately stops future social contact and deliberate matchmaking between the two accounts.
Only your public name, portrait, player tag and table activity are shown to other players. Account details are not displayed at the table.
Contact us about your data
For privacy questions or requests about your account data, email [email protected]. Include your player name or tag so we can identify the account. We may need to verify account ownership before acting on a request.
